Our co-founder Chris has officially stepped off the BBC Strictly Come Dancing dance floor after an unforgettable few weeks on Strictly Come Dancing, but in our eyes, he’s every bit a winner.
Chris has never been afraid of a challenge. From losing his father at a young age to captaining England Rugby, he has embodied resilience throughout his life. Stepping into the glittering world of sequins and samba took a different kind of strength, the bravery to start again, to be vulnerable, and to give something new his all.
As he shared earlier this year in The Times, “Men should cry. I want my sons to grow up knowing that.” That openness captures exactly what made his Strictly journey so special. Chris approached each week with humility, humour and heart, showing that strength isn’t about being perfect, it’s about having the courage to keep going when things get tough.
A huge well done to Nadiya Bychkova, who has been an incredible teacher, partner and supporter throughout the series. The patience, encouragement and trust she showed on and off the dance floor mirror the same qualities we see in the youth workers, coaches and tutors leading the inspiring projects we support at the Kerslake Robshaw Foundation.
That spirit of guidance and belief is what helps young people to thrive. Whether through music or sport, they are learning, growing and building the confidence to overcome their own challenges, one step at a time.
We couldn’t be prouder of Chris and Nadiya for embodying the values our Foundation stands for: courage, resilience and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to thrive.
